Position: Intern
Term: Spring 2008
Duties of Intern:
Assist in advocating of global warming solutions and renewable energy in state and federal policy; attend and record candidates talking about energy and climate change issues at campaign events and town meetings; recruit volunteers through networking at local events, community outreach, phone banking, etc.; assist with campus outreach at your university; implement letter to the editor program; work with volunteers and IGW staff.
Skills Required:
Intern should have an interest in global warming and politics, and familiarity with writing for different purposes, such as news releases, blogs, and advertisements. Knowledge of software programs and Microsoft office is preferred. Intern should have some flexibility since small organization has varied demands.
Preferred Academic Major: political science, environmental/natural resources, public administration, social work and public relations/advertising.
Classification: Sophomore, junior or senior standing.
Hours per week: 10-15
(3 credits) academic credit available
Position is unpaid, but travel costs are covered
