DES MOINES, IA – The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) office at 401 Southwest 7th Street closed this afternoon due to flooding. The office is located just west of the confluence of the Raccoon and Des Moines rivers.
The Southwest 7th Street office houses the DNR’s Environmental Services Field Office, which investigates environmental concerns in central Iowa; water supply construction and operations permitting; and the state revolving loan fund program for water quality efforts. Staff in these program areas will continue to work but will be relocated to other DNR locations in the metro area. DNR offices at the Capitol Complex in Des Moines and on Hickman Avenue in Urbandale remain open for business.
Record centers for the field office and water supply operations are temporarily unavailable until the SW 7th St. office reopens.
To reach DNR staff in these program areas, please contact the DNR main telephone number at (515) 281-5918.
