After returning from a “fact finding” trip to Alaska and the Rocky
Mountains, House Minority Leader John Boehner and other House Republicans
unveiled yet another drill-everywhere bill on the steps of the Capitol
yesterday. They were greeted by an equal number of citizens urging them to
move towards a clean energy future, rather than technology of the past.
Rep. Boehner and other House Republicans were unable to land in Kaktovik, AK or
see the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge on their recent trip to Alaska due to
fog. But it wouldn’t have made any difference -- before leaving, Boehner
said he thought they wouldn’t see any wildlife since it was just an Arctic
desert anyway. Rep. Boehner didn't even have the courtesy to respond to an
invitation from the Gwich'in Nation who consider the coastal plain of the Refuge
"the Sacred Place Where Life Begins."
Call your Representative and Senators today to urge
them not to bankrupt the natural legacy of future generations for the short term
profits of Big Oil. Urge them to oppose the “American Energy Act,” and any
other attempts to open our public lands and waters to Big Oil. The Capitol
switchboard is 202-224-3121- ask for your Members’ offices by name.

and your Senators at www.senate.gov.)
