Big Oil. Is there any limit to their greed? Just last week, we learned that Exxon reported $11.7 billion in pure profit in the last 90 days alone, more than any U.S. corporation in history. With record-shattering profits like these, is it any wonder why a gallon of gas costs over $4? Yet Big Oil wants us to believe that drilling in the last untouched piece of America—the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge—is the solution to all our problems. Give us a break! It's time for our elected leaders to say NO to Big Oil and say YES to real solutions that help consumers and protect our last open spaces. Visit ShameOnBigOil.org and sign the petition to declare independence from Big Oil! We recently launched ShameOnBigOil.org, with our environmental partners across the country, to expose Big Oil's slick scheme to stick it to the Arctic. They spout lies. They pay off politicians. They pollute. They jack up gas prices and laugh all the way to the bank. And we're calling them out. In the last seven years, more than 70 million acres (yes, 70 million!) have been offered in the Alaskan Arctic for oil and gas drilling, and an additional tens of millions of acres in the Rockies. What has it gotten us? A doubling in gas prices, while Big Oil bathes in record profits. They've dug an awfully big hole for us, and they want to keep digging. Shame On Big Oil!
