If I remember correctly, some years ago this subject came up for debate. The DNR
wanted (and still does) to drain the lake and make it deeper mainly for the
benefit of a developer who wants to build houses with lake frontage. The lake
has always been shallow and not suitable for boats with more than 10 horse power
motors. A deeper lake would be more desirable for boaters. Jerry
