DAVENPORT — A plugged sewer line led to two wastewater discharges in Davenport on Tuesday and Wednesday.

About 500 gallons of untreated wastewater reached the Mississippi River following an hour-long discharge that began at 11 p.m. Tuesday. Crews opened the sewer line along Fernwood Avenue, but it plugged again, causing another discharge beginning at 8 a.m. Wednesday.

The discharge remains ongoing as city staff are working on cleaning the line Wednesday morning.
