Iowa Department of Natural Resources Environmental Services Division For Immediate Release November 12, 2008 WASTEWATER DISCHARGES TO MISSISSIPPI RIVER IN DAVENPORT MEDIA CONTACT: Brian Lee at (319) 653-2135 or [log in to unmask] DAVENPORT — A plugged sewer line led to two wastewater discharges in Davenport on Tuesday and Wednesday. About 500 gallons of untreated wastewater reached the Mississippi River following an hour-long discharge that began at 11 p.m. Tuesday. Crews opened the sewer line along Fernwood Avenue, but it plugged again, causing another discharge beginning at 8 a.m. Wednesday.
