DAVENPORT — A cracked private sewer line in Davenport is leaking sewage to the Mississippi River on Tuesday.
Around 9 a.m. Tuesday, employees at Kahl Home for the Aged discovered a sewer line leaking untreated sewage into the street, which flows into a catch basin and then to the river. It is unknown how much wastewater has reached the river.
As the sewer line is not connected to the city’s main sewer system, Kahl Home has hired a plumber to repair the line and stop the discharge.
