Environmentalists urge steps to protect, enhance resources

A coalition of environmental groups on Tuesday called on the Iowa Legislature to make this year a milestone in improving the state's landscape and quality of life.

The fate of several of the coalition's proposals will hinge on how state leaders deal with the budget crisis.
