REAP Day Thursday, March 12 at Iowa State Capitol rotunda, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Speak with your legislators, and have a slice of 20th anniversary cake Celebrate 20 years of REAP and show your support on March 12! REAP (Resource Enhancement and Protection) is celebrating its 20th year. Each year, REAP dollars fund open space protection, trails, parks, soil and water conservation, conservation education, roadside vegetation and historic preservation projects throughout Iowa. REAP supporters will visit the Capitol on March 12 to show our appreciation for state funding of the REAP program at $18 million in 2008 and ask that legislators maintain that funding level in 2009. To keep REAP funded, legislators must hear how much their constituents value this program. Our goal is 150 REAP supporters to talk to the legislators. Can't come? Contact your state representative and senator to express your support for REAP funding of $18 million. For information on contacting your legislators, visit http://www.legis.state.ia.us/FindLeg/ Sierra Club will have a display at this event. If you are available to help staff the display between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., please contact Jane Clark at [log in to unmask] Thanks!
