VEDIC CITY—A neighbor reported wastewater pooling in a ditch near Vedic City in Jefferson County at about noon on Monday.

City staff discovered a ruptured pipe near the 170th Street pumping station in Vedic City and shut the pumps down. An unknown amount of wastewater flowed over land and then into an underground tile line, which flows into a tributary of Mitchell Creek.

The city reported that it had repaired the pipe by 5:45 p.m. Monday.

The DNR is not considering enforcement action at this time.
