The city discovered the wastewater release at about 1 p.m. City staff were actively investigating the manhole and pipes near the Northwest Arterial and 2200 Samantha Drive. There are no estimates available yet on the amount or duration of the release. However, because the creek runs through the city, the DNR suggests keeping children and pets out of the creek for at least 48 hours. The DNR does not anticipate taking enforcement action at this time. - 30 - Karen Grimes Communications Bureau Iowa DNR 502 East Ninth Street Des Moines, IA 50319-0034 (515) 281-5135 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - To unsubscribe from the IOWA-TOPICS list, send any message to: [log in to unmask] Check out our Listserv Lists support site for more information: http://www.sierraclub.org/lists/faq.asp Sign up to receive Sierra Club Insider, the flagship e-newsletter.
