The University of Iowa is hosting The Green Summit, an educational environmental conference for university students and the public, this Saturday, April 18th, at Pappajohn Business Building.  Starting at 8:30 am with breakfast and keynote presentation by Iowa City State Senator and environmental advocate Joe Bolkcom.  Summit participants will be able to participate in three interactive forums with a variety of environmental experts, including:
 
Mike Berkshire, Chicago Climate Action Plan Task Force and US Green Building Council (Chicago Chapter) Board of Directors
Dianne Dillon-Ridgely, Chair of the Board of Plains Justice and Managing Director of Global Water Partnership
Mark Kresowik, Sierra Club Beyond Coal National Corporate Accountability Representative (and former UISG President)
Craig Just, U of Ia College of Engineering Coordinator of Sustainability Programs 
Alec Scranton, College of Engineering Dean of Academic Programs

Admission is free but registration is requested at www.TheGreenSummit2009.com

The morning presentations will be followed by The Green Expo of campus and community groups on the Pentacrest lawn from noon to 5 pm.
 
The Green Summit and Expo are hosted by the University of Iowa Environmental Coalition and Green State Solutions with sponsorship from UISG, the Office of the President, the Office of Sustainability and New Pioneer Co-op.
