I am storing all the e-mails related to this issue in a folder labeled
"Urban Sprawl."

That's because our Iowa Department of "Natural Resources," already
involved in commercial logging of Iowa's state parks, and in construction of large
dams and lakes, is now one of many Iowa promoters of urban sprawl.

When we consider that Iowa land is North America's Amazon, an irreplaceable
resource, this is not merely a tragedy; it is a crime.

There is an article and a map in today's DM Register. The developer said
he
bought the land from a farmer a few years ago. It is across a "bay" to
the
north from the existing DNR facility. The map shows the proposed
development to be back from the lake.

The article mentioned condos, houses, fast-food restaurants, gas stations,

etc..

to
Honey Creek

I just saw the KCCI news story about it. The developer referred to the
development as 'outside the park.‘
