I said to her this morning, "When you are asked what countries border on Turkey you should answer, 'Syria, Iraq, Iran, Armenia, Georgia, and--oh yes--don't forget Bulgaria and Greece.' " To which she replied, "I'm not the President, so I don't need to have that knowledge." To which I responded, "Honey, this is a democracy, and the President works for us; so, as citizens, we need to have more knowledge than the President." Under Bush-Cheney it was easy to have more knowledge than the President. The problem was convincing the President that he worked for us, not the other way around.
