Dear Constituent,

Yesterday, my "Cash for Clunkers" bill passed the House with vast bipartisan support.  This important legislation will help boost our economy, save families money, and reduce our dependence on foreign oil.

The "Cash for Clunkers" program would provide consumers with incentives of $3,500 or $4,500 to purchase new, fuel-efficient vehicles to replace old gas-guzzlers.  This common-sense approach will have a big impact on our economy, and I'll be working to pass this bill in the Senate so consumers and American workers can begin to see the benefits from this legislation.
