You are cordially
invited to a private
screening of an exciting new movie, FRESH, on Saturday, September 12,
2009!
FRESH celebrates the farmers,
thinkers and business leaders across America who are re-inventing our food
system. Forging healthier, sustainable alternatives, they offer a
practical vision for the future of our food and our planet. FRESH addresses an ethos that has
been sweeping the nation and is a call-to-action America has been waiting for.
Characters in FRESH
include urban farmer and activist Will Allen, the recipient of
MacArthur's 2008 Genius Award; sustainable farmer and entrepreneur Joel Salatin, made famous by
Michael Pollan's book
The Omnivore's Dilemma; and
supermarket owner David Ball
who is challenging our big-box-store dominated economy. It
also features our own Iowa son, George Naylor from
Churdan, a longtime advocate for sustainable agricultural policies and a
prominent figure in Pollan’s book. Go to www.freshthemovie.com
to read more about the film, its main characters and director Ana Sofia
Joanes.
