For immediate release: September 3, 2009 BARNES CITY BOIL ADVISORY LIFTED MEDIA CONTACT: Janet Gastineau, DNR, at (515) 725-0334. BARNES CITY — The City of Barnes City in Mahaska County lifted a boil advisory for its residents on Thursday. Test results on water samples show the water is safe to drink. During construction on a new central sewer system Aug. 26, a water line washed out. This caused the drinking water distribution system to lose pressure, creating the potential for bacterial contamination. The contractor responsible for the washed out line made repairs. -30- [cid:image002.jpg@01CA2CAE.2D89AED0] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - To unsubscribe from the IOWA-TOPICS list, send any message to: [log in to unmask] Check out our Listserv Lists support site for more information: http://www.sierraclub.org/lists/faq.asp Sign up to receive Sierra Club Insider, the flagship e-newsletter.
