Today is the deadline for signing up for a free lunch and media
training. This is an opportunity to learn how to fight for Alaska
Wilderness from Iowa. There is more pressure than ever to drill in prime
waterfowl habitat, prime migration routes, and prime polar bear denning
areas. It will take all of us to save our best places.

You are invited to
join us for our 2009 Activist Media Training in Des Moines IA. This training is designed to bring
individuals together to learn about using media tools.
This Media Training will provide the skills for any level activist to
use the media to further their campaign. We will be joined by Emilie
Surrusco, Communications Director for Alaska Wilderness League in
Washington DC, who will share her broad experiences
in dealing with various forms of media on a number of different issues.
There will also be a
briefing for updates on the current legislative issues affecting wild
Alaska, including the Arctic National Wildlife
Refuge, the Tongass National Forest, and Teshekpuk Lake among others in light of the new
administration.
