The current oil spill is a testament to why we don't need new offshore
drilling sites.

The BP oil spill disaster has been estimated to have spilled more than 10
million gallons of oil and counting.

President Barack Obama's recent claim on April 2 during a speech he gave
in North Carolina that oil rigs generally don't cause spills has been
proven false. The technology for oil rigs still isn't adequate enough to
guarantee such a disaster won't happen again.
I certainly hope that Obama bans offshore drilling in new areas and leads
the charge for a clean energy economy.
