Dear
Charles,

Thank
you for contacting me regarding coal ash disposal. This is an
important issue, and I am glad you have shared your views with me.

I'm
concerned about reports that toxic coal ash is being dumped in Iowa,
especially in my district near Waterloo.
I'm pleased that Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lisa Jackson has committed to drafting
a plan to regulate coal ash disposal this year, and I look forward to examining their regulations when
they are unveiled. We need to work together to find a solution that protects Iowa's
air and water. Please be assured I will keep your views in mind and will continue to monitor this issue during the 111thCongress.

Thanks
again for contacting me. I occasionally provide electronic updates on issues I think my constituents
