Mr. Charles Lee Winterwood, M.D.

1555 Montrose Terrace

Dubuque, IA 52001-0329

Dear Charles,

Thank you for contacting me regarding coal ash disposal.  This is an important issue, and I am glad you have shared your views with me.

I'm concerned about reports that toxic coal ash is being dumped in Iowa, especially in my district near Waterloo. I'm pleased that Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lisa Jackson has committed to drafting a plan to regulate coal ash disposal this year, and I look forward to examining their regulations when they are unveiled. We need to work together to find a solution that protects Iowa's air and water. Please be assured I will keep your views in mind and will continue to monitor this issue during the 111th Congress.

Thanks again for contacting me.  I occasionally provide electronic updates on issues I think my constituents might be interested in.  If you would like to receive my E-newsletter, please sign up at my website at http://braley.house.gov.  On my website you can also view my voting record, and get information about issues important to the First District.  If I can be of any further assistance, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,
