DES MOINES - An interagency,
interstate group that makes recommendations on Missouri River policies will
discuss visions for the river and an upcoming series of meetings to gather
Iowans’ thoughts on the river’s future.
The State Interagency Missouri
River Authority will meet from 1 to 3 p.m. on June 17 in the fourth floor
conference room of the Wallace State Office Building, 502 E. Ninth St., Des
Moines. The meeting is open to the public. Public participation is
scheduled for late on the agenda.
“We’re
scheduled a series of meetings to learn what Iowans want from the river,” said
Bernie Hoyer, special assistant to the DNR director. “How is the river used and
what future uses do people who live near the river envision?”
