discharge was discovered Wednesday morning running from a manhole into
An unknown amount of
wastewater has bypassed to the lake near 8133
People should keep
children and pets away from the area for 24 hours after the discharge ends.
The untreated
wastewater reached a shallow bay that is used mostly for fishing, and not for
swimming or skiing. Fish will be safe to eat, but should be rinsed thoroughly.
The DNR is requiring
the maintenance company to take water samples and test for ammonia, bacteria,
organic matter and suspended solids.
