A new federal
program, America’s Great Outdoors
Initiative, seeks to “develop a
conservation agenda worthy of the 21st century and
to reconnect Americans with our great outdoors.”
Regions of the country selected for this program
will gain higher priority for federal funding
and programming.
To select the
regions, senior representatives from five
federal agencies are traveling the
country to gather public views. Their only
Midwestern stop will be in Minneapolis on
Wednesday, August 4.
Please help Iowa and the
Upper Midwest become a national
priority.
The leaders are
especially impressed by
committed, enthusiastic, local support
for conservation and outdoor recreation.
