Typical Farm Bureau BS. I'm not surprised about their stand with the EPC, But I would like to know how tile drainage 'benefits' erosion. Erosion occurs on tilled slopes and hillsides. Tiling is used in areas that are relatively flat and have occasional wet spots. Tiling is not used on slopes where drainage takes place naturally on the surface. The way to control erosion is to not plant row crops on hilly ground with out using terraces and countour and strip cropping. Jerry

For those who want to see what the IFB wants in the next legislative
session, here's an overview. I was especially interested in the parts about
the Environmental Protection Commission and tile drainage.
