Will ag business reap reward from election?

Will voters get the small government and reduced spending they were promised?

Newly elected Republican lawmakers say no to light rail that would alleviate wasteful oil consumption, but say yes to billions of big government subsidies for oil, gas, coal and agricultural business.

With Sen. Chuck Grassley's and Iowa Agriculture Secretary Bill Northey's re-election campaigns funded by Farm Bureau, will we see an end to big government policies that reward corporate agribusiness with billions of dollars in farm subsidies?

Agribusiness consumes nearly a fifth of all petroleum used in the United States, and it takes 10 calories of fossil-fuel energy to make one calorie of food.

Subsidized cheap food produced by subsidized cheap fuel has led to an epidemic of obesity, causing multiple health problems, such as diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure and stroke.

Wasn't this election also about repealing the health care bill?
