Tom, I also have been looking through the magazine for the Thoreau article. Hard to believe that this was a big goof in SIERRA. Yet inside the magazine I have found no mention of Thoreau, or of what he was wrong about. Has anyone found an explanation of the cover headline on the inside pages of this issue of Sierra? On the complete streets topic, we need to devote as much of our resources to keeping sidewalks free of mud, puddles, snow, ice, and low tree branches as we do to keeping streets and roads clear of those impediments to traffic.
