Thank you Jane for exposing the threats of Alaska lawmakers and Drill, Baby, Drill Congress.  President Obama has opened the Arctic ocean to Shell drilling.  Big oil is paying for ads inflating their jobs and telling public they need those subsidies.  What we can do is make comments as given this opportunity by USFWS.  Entire information given below and Jane added good talking points from the E & E reporter.  Public comments are desperately needed to fight Alaska delegation and let Obama know the Arctic Refuge belongs to all of America, not just Alaskans.  Phyllis

The public comment period on the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (Refuge) Draft Revised Comprehensive Conservation Plan (CCP) and Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) starts on Monday, August 15.

The CCP is the document that guides long-term management of the Refuge. We encourage you to share your thoughts with us. The most useful comments will be about specific content in the Draft CCP/EIS. Please tell us what you do or do not like about the vision, a particular goal, one of the alternatives, etc. We are also looking for important points we may have missed. Please keep in mind that comments do not constitute a vote -- we are looking for quality, not quantity.

The entire Draft CCP/EIS is on our website (http://arctic.fws.gov/ccp.htm), as is a 20-page summary booklet.  A limited number of CDs, and an even more limited number of 2-volume bound sets, are available on a first-come first-served basis. Please visit our website to submit comments using the web, for more information about the CCP and the CCP planning process, or to request a copy of the CCP/EIS.

You can also submit comments by email at [log in to unmask], by fax to (907) 456-0428, or you can mail comments to:
