PRESS RELEASE
Join us for an Occupy ISU/Ames Teach-In
"After AgriSol: Defining a University's Ethics and Interests in a Corporate World"
Saturday, March 24th from 2 pm to 4:00 pm
Ames City Hall Council Chambers, 515 Clark Ave. Ames, IAThe public is invited to this important discussion and forum. The event is free.
Subjects of discussion:
The Land Grant Mission: Ally with Corporate Interests?
Ethical Partnerships
Research Ethics
Defunding Public Education
Effecting Change: A Call to Action!Teach-in panelists include Francis Thicke, Adam Mason, Carolyn Raffensperger, David Osterberg, Matt Ohloff, and George Naylor, among others.
As you can see from the list of panelists that have committed to participate, this topic is of great interest. If public universities are going to participate in global corporate ventures, then there needs to be a clear institutional statement of Global Ethics, and Global Purpose, along with complete procedural transparency as these partnerships are being developed.
Best Wishes,Steve Veysey- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - To unsubscribe from the IOWA-TOPICS list, send any message to: [log in to unmask] Check out our Listserv Lists support site for more information: http://www.sierraclub.org/lists/faq.asp To view the Sierra Club List Terms & Conditions, see: http://www.sierraclub.org/lists/terms.asp
