France  is still heavily dependent on nuclear power.  Germany is planning 
to do  without and is emphasizing renewables instead.  Bringing more 
renewables  on stream would seem to be lowering the price of electricity -- exactly 
what  advocates of Germany' s comprehensive, clean energy feed-in tariff 
program  said would happen, and the reverse of what proponents of fossil fuels 
and  nuclear predicted.  -- Ed M.
