These meetings are being held across the state to gather information in
order to develop a new 5-year outdoor recreation plan for Iowa. The draft
plan will be developed based on information gathered in surveys conducted in
the spring of 2012 and through the comments from these 6 meetings. The
draft plan will be available for public comment before it is submitted to
the National Park Service in December.

The Department wants to see Iowans with an interest in outdoor recreation or
who participate in outdoor recreation to attend these meetings, helping us
set a course for the future. These meetings will primarily focus on
gathering public and stakeholder input looking at what amenities or
conveniences would help you participate more or what should the state focus
on in terms of outdoor recreation.

Please feel free to disseminate this invitation to friends, interested
groups or listserves that you might have. We are looking for input and hope
to have many people attend these meetings. If there are questions, please
direct them to [log in to unmask] , project leader for the State
Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan.
