Subject: Keystone XL Pipeline Hearing Set for April 18
The U.S. State Department has firmed up its plans to hold two hearings on its Environmental Impact Statement for the Keystone XL pipeline. Both hearings will be held in Grand Island, Nebraska, on April 18. Sierra Club is organizing a group of Iowans who want to attend the hearing and will pay for transportation. We are also working on overnight lodging if those interested want to spend the night.
The hearings will be scheduled from noon-3 p.m. and from 4-8 p.m. with registration to speak at 11 a.m. We want to include as many Iowans as want to attend and we are opening it up to Iowans who are not Sierra Club members. If there is enough interest, we will pick up participants in Iowa City, Des Moines and Council Bluffs. Grand Island is approximately 275 miles from Des Moines.
Please complete the survey and check your preferences.
We will do our best to accommodate everyone’s needs and preferences. When we have a chance to review survey results, we will provide you with details of when and where to meet.
