Jackson County Citizens’ Voices presents a Regional Conference in Black River Falls, “Standing Against the Sand Storm” on June 1, 2013. The conference is open to the public, and will inform and engage citizens and groups from Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, and Iowa on the critical policy issues surrounding the frac sand mine industry in Western Wisconsin. The film, “Frac Sand Land” will be screened.

BLACK RIVER FALLS – Jackson County Citizens’ Voices is hosting a regional conference on frac sand mining in Western Wisconsin, “Standing Against the Sand Storm” on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at the Black River Falls High School Lunda Center. The program begins at 10:00 am and is open to the public for a suggested $15 donation (includes lunch). The Keynote Speaker will be Jeff Abbas (Allamakee County, Iowa Protectors). The film by Robert Nehman, “Frac Sand Land” will be screened. Other participating organizations include The Ho-Chunk Nation, Midwest Environmental Advocates, Wisconsin Grassroots Network, Forward Institute, and Wisconsin League of Conservation Voters.
