MidAmerican Energy announced last month that it will invest 1-point-9 billion dollars in Iowa.
This is the Iowa Environmental Focus.
MidAmerican Energy’s planned investment will add 656 new wind turbines by 2016.
MidAmerican Energy president, Bill Fehrman estimates that approximately 39 percent of the electricity used by its customers will be served by wind within the next few years.
According to the Iowa Wind Energy Association, Iowa produced about 25 percent of all the electricity generated in the state from wind turbines. Iowa also currently has the seventh best wind resource in the nation.
