Sierra Clubbers, The President's Climate Policy speech yesterday in Washington was like a State of the Union address aimed squarely at those of us in the environmental movement. I'm greatly encouraged that the Sierra Club had an obvious strong influence on what the president said on such critically important matters as carbon pollution standards for new and existing power plants. And I'm gratified that Sierra Club leaders, including myself and board members, had the opportunity to express our views on the president's plan in print, broadcast and online media stories before, during and after the speech.
