The Iowa Utility Board wants to hear from Iowans interested in consumer-owned renewable energy systems like wind.
The Iowa Utilities Board said Wednesday it wants to hear from residents, businesses, state leaders, environmental groups and others interested in consumer-owned solar, wind and other renewable energy systems.
The board’s inquiry is expected to provide a better understanding of the issues surrounding “distributed generation,” such as solar and wind energy. Those issues could include connecting renewable energy systems to the grid, power reliability and costs for consumers who own systems and for those who do not, the board said.
The board will accept comments through Feb. 25. Anyone interested in participating can submit a response via the board’s electronic filing system. Questions regarding the notice of inquiry docket may be addressed to the board’s Brenda Biddle at[log in to unmask].
