Here is an excellent Environmental Working Group report on sediment and nutrient conditions on Minnesota streams.  
I wish I had not been in and out of town but I do not think this is a duplicate email.  
This is a great report comparing our Iowa responses to these problems and Minnesota's.  The report itself is attached, not found in the press release and list below.  

Soren Rundquist from Environmental Working Group says they are preparing a report on Iowa in the future.    
One of the most intriguing ideas is that buffer strips in MInnesota have a legal status.  I wonder how that fits with private property and the voluntary approach to conservation.
