This part of the Bolsa Chica area is currently zoned for open space—parks.  The proposal is to rezone to allow building on the open space.

 

Preserving the Bolsa Chica Wetlands has been a major focus of the Sierra Club here in Orange County for many, many years.

CALL TO ACTION

 

 

The Coastal Commission hearing about the Ridge is in two weeks on June 12.  It is very important we have a strong presence at the hearing.

 

What you can do:

 

Attend!  We need as many people as possible at the hearing.

 

Date: June 12

Where: Huntington Beach City Hall 2000 Main Street

When: the hearing starts at 9am

 

We do not have a set time, but we are early on the agenda and we suggest people arrive by 9am.

The top of the letter should include the Application number: HNB-MAJ-1-12 and "Opposition to the project".  The address to include on the letter and where to send it:

Main points to include are saving the entire lands both Ridge and Goodell, and keeping the zoning to open spaces- parks.  The area is rich in archeological significance including cog stones, burial grounds and village.
