The people who are doing this genetic engineering are sociopaths. They have no conscience.--Tom

THE CLAIM: Lab-created salmon could be sold on grocery store shelves in Oregon without any identifying labels

				THE VERDICT: TRUE!

THE FACTS: The FDA has fast tracked the pending approval of genetically engineered salmon, which are created in a laboratory by combining genes from Pacific salmon and an eel-like Ocean Pout and inserting them into the genome of an Atlantic salmon.

Without a GMO labeling law, chemical companies and Big Food are allowed to market these salmon alongside fresh caught, natural fish. We’ll have no way of knowing whether we’re buying Frankenfish or natural salmon.

That’s why Measure 92 is so important. We have a right to know what we’re eating -- whether it’s a genetically modified tomato or a lab-created salmon. And salmon could be just the beginning: The FDA’s decision could pave the way for genetically engineered chicken, pigs or even cows.
