Dear Friends:
The clock
is ticking but you still have time to register for the 2014 Annual Meeting to
be held Saturday, October 4, at the Neal Smith Wildlife Refuge near Prairie
City.

Register now
before time runs out! A downloadable
form is available at http://iowa.sierraclub.org/2014ADRegistration.pdf

The Chapter
is proud to present Karl Brooks, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region
7 Administrator, as its featured guest.

This event
is an excellent opportunity to learn more about the EPA’s Clean Power Plan to
cut carbon pollution from existing power plants and reduce greenhouse gases and
the agency’s recently proposed rules to restore CWA protections to hundreds of
thousands of miles of streams and millions of wetland acres. It’s also a great time for the EPA to hear
from us.

The Chapter’s
history in working with EPA Region 7 includes intimate involvement on
concentrated animal feeding operations (CAFO) issues, nutrient reduction and
the scope of the Clean Water Act (CWA).

A luncheon will
be served at noon. Both a vegetarian and
an omnivore option is available at a cost of $25 per person. Our distinguished speaker will follow the
meal.

A hike, led
by Sierran Jerry Neff, will commence at 10:30 a.m. from the Visitor’s Center.

Reservations
must be received by September 30. To
register, email [log in to unmask]
and give your name, address, the number attending and menu preference(s). Then, download the registration form at http://iowa.sierraclub.org/2014ADRegistration.pdf,
fill it out and bring it with your check to the event On October 4.
