2473 160th Rd
Guthrie Center, Iowa 50115

The Iowa Conservation Education Coalition (ICEC) is holding a special workshop on February 4-5, 2016 designed especially for the conservation profession. The New Iowa Science Standards are applicable beyond the classroom – we’ll
take the best methods for learning and teaching science (at any age) to assist conservation professionals to better reach adult and mix-aged audiences. This is
your opportunity to update your programs and delivery methods, no matter if your audience is one landowner, a classroom of 3rd graders, or a mixed audience at a public event. The ICEC has obtain grant funds to keep the registration costs low and housing
costs are a mere $20.00 /night for the dorm-style facilities available at the Springbrook Conservation Education Center.

Registration can be completed using the attached form or by going online at:
http://www.iowaee.org/Conferences/Default.aspx?id=2. Please feel free to forward this email to other natural resource professionals who might be interested in attending this program.

Who should come:
Individuals who convey scientific information to people of any age and in any setting, naturalists, wildlife and fisheries biologists, natural resource managers, water or air quality specialists, park managers, soil specialists, teachers,
 science education consultants, and more.

Why you should come:

Conservation professionals will update presentation skills to increase learning and generate behavior change in adult audiences.
Environmental educators will understand how to tailor their message to meet audience needs. Natural resources will now be part of the school curriculum and teachers will be looking for experts who know how to present effectively.

Thank you! Please let me know if you have any questions!
