Subject: Congression letter EPA re IMD

Democratic Reps. Earl Blumenauer (Ore.) and John Conyers (Mich.) say the EPA failed to address issues crucial to reversing pollinator losses when the agency assessed the widely used insecticide imidacloprid, which was issued in January.
The lawmakers, along with 38 others, sent a letter to EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy on Thursday requesting the agency further evaluate the impacts of imidacloprid and other neonicotinoids on native bee species, the risks of other stressors on honey bees in conjunction with exposure to pesticides and the effects when multiple pesticides are used together.
