The Sierra Club Annual Meeting will be on October 28, 2017, at the Iowa
Arboretum, 1875 Peach Ave, Madrid, IA. Admission
is only $35. If you would like to

can pay at the door.
I hope you can join
us. It will give you an opportunity to
discuss environmental issues with Sierra Club leaders and members from across
the state.
The fun-packed day includes:
9am - hike led by Mark Edwards
11:00 - brunch, speaker, awards
1:30 - workshops on climate change and water
quality
3:30 - committee chair pitches
4:30 - adjourn
Guest Speaker – Jeffrey B. LeClere, author of A Field
Guide to the Amphibians and Reptiles of Iowa. Reptiles and amphibians are indicator
species, which means their population health reflects the health of our
environment. LeClere will discuss how our knowledge of reptiles and
amphibians informs us on what we do about climate change, water issues, and
development.
Chef – Donna Prizgintas, radio host and personal chef to
Hollywood celebrities. Donna uses local
foods in creative and festive dishes.
