Winter Skills Class

Come join the OCSS and the Sierra Sage for this fun evening class in which experienced Sierra Club leaders will discuss the subject of winter sports (hiking, camping, and more, all while in the snow). Topics will include sleeping systems, sleeping bags, ground pads, four-season tents, apparel (layering), insulated boots, stoves/cooking, training for winter hiking, and more. This class will impart the basic knowledge to be prepared to participate in several upcoming Sierra Club winter outings, including several OCSS bus trips to Mammoth Lakes, and to make good decisions about what gear to rent, to buy, and to bring.  This one time class will be held at the Norman P. Murray Center at 24932 Veterans Way in Mission Viejo 92692. From 5 freeway in Mission Viejo, exit La Paz, head northeast on La Paz for 2 miles, pass Marguerite Parkway, turn left on Veterans Way. The center is at the end of the street.
