Unfortunately, I won't be able to participate at 11.  I will be at the legislature all day tomorrow and have meetings already scheduled.  I am finally available the rest of this afternoon.

Francis is not on the ag committee.  We have consulted with him in the past, as issues come up.  He was invited to serve, but was too busy the last time he was approached.  Diana Krystofiak is on the ag committee.

There are some committees where the groups are asked to have a representative.  The political committee is one.  This year, the legislative committee has a representative from the groups.  The climate committee has had members from each group.
The water and ag committees have mostly been subcommittees of the chapter and have not had a broader membership.  However, if there is someone who wants to work on those issues, they can be brought into the committee.
There is a "listserve" which has the water committee members.  The ag committee members also have their own listserve.
The chapter conservation committees (issues) give a report at the excom meetings.

The leaders list is for everyone who has a chapter or group leadership position -- [log in to unmask]
You can use the leaders forum for questions related to group operations, to share items, etc.
There is no listserve for the group chairs.
Carole, as a chapter delegate, you can also use the excom listserve to ask questions.  That listserve is only for the excom members and the director/lobbyist.  You are on that listserve, Carole.

[log in to unmask] is a listserve that has been open to anyone who is interested in posting things about the environment.  It doesn't get used very often.

Subject: phone call request

Hi Pam,

Would you be available for a phone call from me and Mary Tarnoff,  tomorrow (Tues. 1/22) at 11 am?
The main reason for this call is that we are working to bring a high-profile climate crisis speaker to Fairfield, in conjunction with other local environmental groups, and want to follow SC guidelines in doing so.
I also have questions about the structure of statewide issues committees as they relate to our group Leaders List.  For example, should we try to recruit Francis Thicke for the Agriculture Committee, or is he already on it?  My understanding is that any member sign up for issues committees without going through the local group, but if we want a liaison with that committee then we should appoint someone.  Is that correct?
We also would like a better understanding of the Chapter's many Lists (or Listserves?).  Is there a List of Lists?  How do we know who is on them?  Is there a group for Chapter Chairs to communicate with each other, perhaps to share how we do various things?
I may remember another question or two to ask you as well,  if we have time.
Thanks,
Carole
