If they do not have enough participation for the Retreat, they will need to cancel the reservations for Wednesday and Thursday night. Please let Susan Patton know by this Sunday, August 15, if you are planning on attending or not attending the retreat portion of the week as we need to make arrangements for canoes for the Thursday outing. The retreat portion of the week on Wednesday and Thursday night is $33.00 per night per person and that does not include food, although we do have use of a fully equipped kitchen. We will have a separate discussion with those attending to have a grocery run to have group meals. We will be staying in the Homestead for both the retreat portion and the MRCC meeting portion. The cost for the MRCC meeting begins on Friday evening and includes Friday and Saturday night lodging and five meals. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Sat and breakfast and lunch on Sunday are covered for $98.50 for the weekend. Please have the checks made out to the Sierra Club, MRCC, for the $98.50. Remember to bring written reports from your chapters to distribute and be prepared to discuss items from your chapter. At the June meeting a committee was appointed to investigate TMDL coordination efforts made up of Roger Aiken, Debbie Neustadt, and Dave Scott. Please be prepared to give a short report on any progress. We also appointed a committee to investigate interest in developing Watershed Watch / Monitoring in additional chapters that included MO, IA, OH, and WI expressing interest. That committee is Hank Graddy, Roy Hengerson, and Barb Frank, please be prepared to give a short report on your progress. On the agenda so far we have: Bylaw change regarding our new Canadian member becoming a voting member of the MRCC. I still need a revised version of the last Bylaws we voted on last year to submit to the Council of Club Leaders. Please let me know your plans as soon as possible for your participation in the September MRCC meeting and retreat. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Please remember, you do not have to be a delegate or alternate delegate to attend an MRCC meeting, we invite all local volunteers that can possibly attend to do so. I'm looking forward to seeing many of you in September. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Susan Patton 4956 Pritchard Lane Independence, KY 41051 606-356-8582 [log in to unmask] ----------------------------------------------------------------- To get off the IOWA-TOPICS list, send any message to: [log in to unmask]
